President George W. Bush got his farewell gift in a totally unpredictable mode when Iraqi journalist thrown his own shoes on Mr. Bush two times. This happened, while Bush was giving briefing to the press and media personals about new security agreement pact between their countries in which US troops are bound to leave Iraq in 2011.The person who done this respectable job was ‘Muntazer Al- Zaidi’ he is basically an Iraqi journalist. A surprise visit by US President George Bush to Iraq has been overshadowed by an incident in which two shoes were thrown at him during a news conference.
Mr. Zaidi called Mr. Bush “a dog” and threw his footwear, just missing the president. With his second shoe, which the president also managed to dodge, Mr. Zaidi said: “This is for the widows and orphans and all those killed in Iraq”. Mr. Zaidi, a correspondent for Cairo-based al-Baghdadiya TV, was then wrestled to the ground by security personnel and hauled away.
Subsequently, Mr. Zaidi was arrested and beaten up very badly in jail room and his spinal cord has been damaged very badly caused
serious spinal injury. Nevertheless, he has been released from the jail after around 2 weeks due to intense protests around the Iraq and other Middle East countries. Despite of the injury, he done an excellent job and he becomes a hero especially for the Arab people, as one of the ‘Arab Sheikh’ announced $1000000 for his shoes which were thrown at Mr. Bush.
“If you want the facts, it’s a size 10 shoe that he threw,” Mr. Bush joked afterwards in a TV interview. Al-Baghdadiya’s bureau chief told the Associated Press that he had no idea what prompted Mr. Zaidi to attack President Bush. However, George Bush says being pelted with shoes could be one of the ‘weirdest’ moments of his presidency. Indeed, it is weirdest moment on Mr. Bush, because he is one of the most powerful presidents in the world right now. He is also responsible of millions of deaths across the world and also attacked Afghanistan and Iraq as well. So, nobody can dare to do this kind of job, however it is not a big deal but throwing shoes on one of the Powerful president of the world is yes a very big deal.
